Frequently Asked Questions

Why haven't I heard from driver?

It is illegal to operate a carrier while being on the phone, and because drivers spend most of their days driving, sometimes their communication is limited.   If you feel the need to get a status update, ETA or have any other questions, you can feel free to give the number provided on your dispatch sheet a call.  If they do not answer, you can either leave them a message by text or voicemail.  A lot of times, certain carriers have their own dispatcher which keeps track of the drivers whereabouts and schedule.

If it has been more than a day with out any kind of update, please submit a ticket.

Is someone going to call me after I made my reservation?

It is an industry standard for drivers to call in advance prior to arriving at either the origin or destination.    Once your load has been dispatched to a carrier, you should have received a dispatch sheet with the carriers contact information.    Should you feel the need to contact the carrier right away, feel free to give them a call.  Please be aware that drivers aren’t allowed to operate their carrier and be on the phone at the same time.

What should I do if there are damages to my car that were never there before?

Just like the preliminary process of renting a car,  all contracted drivers are required to do a inspection of the vehicle prior to loading it.  This is to document the pre existing flaws (if any).   If the carrier is delivering the vehicle and there are new damages that happened during transport of the vehicle, you are to note it on the BOL (Bill of Ladin) prior to signing it’s release.

What is Door-to-Door Service

Most contracted carriers will gladly provide you door to door service if your locations permit.   Please understand that in most cases, your vehicle(s) will be transported on a over sized carrier that sometimes can not fit on certain streets or in certain neighborhoods.   If this is the case, the contracted carrier will let you know in advance and coordinate with you to meet a nearby location that is safe and well lit. What are your delivery hours?

Delivery days and times vary by service type:

  • Auto Transport Carriers usually operate during normal business hours and on weekend.   There are a few exceptions where they will deliver after hours per your request.  If you have any questions on when to expect the arrival of your carrier, you can find their contact information on your dispatch sheet.
